Why is communication important in the real estate business?

In this week’s lesson, I’m going to show you why you should be communicating with your real estate agent. Personally, I get a hold of anyone that is selling a home through me every week and give them updates as to what’s been going on, any changes in the market, and what’s been happening with their listing. I’ve put together this video for you to explain in more detail.

Effective communication between sellers and realtors

Do you know that the real estate business is a people business and the way you communicate has a big impact on your success? The most important aspect of the home selling process is good two-way communication between the seller and the real estate agent. The number one complaint we hear from sellers is that they listed with a realtor and never heard from them again. It’s advisable to have a conversation with your realtor ahead of time. Telling him or her about what your communication preferences and expectations are. Ask them the following questions.

How often would you like your agent to be in touch with you?
What time of day is the most convenient for you to hear from them?
Would you prefer a call text or email with updates?

Ninety-five percent of realtors contact their sellers weekly to give updates concerning the property and to answer any questions. Regular communication between parties is the key to a successful real estate transaction.
